I treat the first rental period as a source of operational information. After several shifts, I ask the foreman what caused waiting, which movements felt awkward, and where workers had to improvise. Those comments often reveal issues that drawings cannot show. A muddy turning area or badly placed storage rack can reduce output more than the rated speed of the machine.
One concrete crew recently tested a compact lifting unit for handling reusable formwork panels. The machine had enough capacity, but its tires tracked debris into a finished access corridor. We changed the travel route, added a cleaning point, and adjusted the staging area by roughly 15 feet. The equipment stayed the same, while the working method improved.
I document these lessons before the next floor, building, or project begins.
